So colorful and luminous, glass is a beautiful medium. Glass offers
a versatile range of expression exhibited in few other mediums. Its
properties offer unique challenges and possibilities whether in its
brittle cold-state or a liquid hot-state.My husband and I relocated from Louisiana to Colorado in 1986. We live
in Pine with our beloved almost-Newfloundland, Dexter. In 2008, we both
retired from technical jobs to develop our art. I am a nerdette turned
glass artisan and Dave is an engineer turned abstract-painter.After completing a BS Computer Science in '94, I purchased my first set
of glass-working tools and have been pursuing glass art since. I have
worked in various industries including energy (employed by Schlumberger,
various oil & gas producers, and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory),
financial (at one of the 'Big 6' firms), and then sports and entertainment.
Prior to retirement, I served as Director of Information Technology for 12
years at Pepsi Center (Kroenke Sports Enterprises). Work was good and
worthwhile, but it is delightful to have more time for leisurely activities
and combining love of nature, music, and abstraction into art glass forms. Thanks for looking at my 'work'. Actually 'play' is a more fitting term.
